On the day that ITT Hub 2020 – the new flagship event for the road transport sector – would have been opening its doors, astronaut Major Tim Peake CMG has joined a number of the event’s key stakeholders in recording a special video to start the countdown to ITT Hub 2021. With the postponement of ITT Hub 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, ITT Hub 2021 will now take place 12-13th May next year and organisers Binswood Media have used the one year out milestone to compile a special video, which can be viewed via the ITT Hub 2021 YouTube channel https://youtu.be/h-URiY371Cs .

“Naturally everyone’s attention is focussed upon the immediate issues that we are all facing in relation to the current situation, but we thought creating and sharing a video which looks forward to brighter times ahead would be a morale boost for everyone. We will all face a very different business world in the future and our team is ready to play its part when the economy restarts and our industry finds its feet again” said Mark Griffin, CEO of Binswood Media. As well as a contribution from Tim Peake, who will be a key note speaker at the FTA’s Future Logistics Conference which will run in parallel with the exhibition at Farnborough International at ITT Hub 2021, the video also includes contributions from David Wells CEO FTA, Founder & MD of Electric Vehicles Outlook, Roger Atkins and Binswood Media Chairman, Leon Daniels OBE.

Additional video messages from a range of other key stakeholders, such as the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, National Grid UK, Centrica Mobility Ventures, Lloyds Bank and Lex Autolease, will also be shared via ITT Hub’s social media channels over the coming week.

“We are proud of the backing and goodwill that we have received from all our partners and stakeholders in making an early call on postponement and putting back the inaugural event by a full 12 months. We know that the industry is under huge pressure and we are here to support the supply chain and operators where we can” said Mark Griffin.

“The vast majority of exhibitors who were due to attend this week have confirmed that they plan to be at ITT Hub 2021 and indeed we have continued to receive high levels of interest and taken a number of new bookings over the last 8 weeks I think that underlines the strength of our proposition, which looks to deliver an exciting new event in a new format, at a world class venue. “It is heartening that some companies in the supply chain already have an eye on next year, as they look at ways of engaging with clients and restore business relationships. I strongly believe that exhibitions and live events are the most powerful way to generate business. As business leaders, we must do whatever we can responsibly to get our economy re-energised for the journey to Net-Zero.”

ITT Hub is scheduled to be one of the first large trade events in the sector for 2021. Outdoor and indoor exhibition space spanning over 45,000sqm will showcase the largest display of trucks, buses, coaches, vans, minibuses and anywhere in the UK next year.

Another key feature for the 6,000 plus expected visitors will be the major FTA conference, with a packed programme of high-quality content and speakers over both days of the event. An integral part of ITT Hub 2021, the free to attend FTA Future Logistics Conference with 45 sessions and over 120 speakers is co-located at Farnborough International Conference & Exhibition Centre.

“If you add on top of the exhibition and conference the opportunity to test drive vehicles, take part in a special networking reception, as well as visit dedicated Government and Skills Hubs and an autonomous vehicle demonstration by Westfield, ITT Hub 2021 is something that we can all really to look forward to next year” said Mark Griffin.

Visitors can pre-register to attend ITT Hub 2021 (entry is free for both the exhibition and the conference) at https://eventdata.uk/Forms/Form.aspx FormRef=ITT50Visitor , with all the latest information for confirmed and potential exhibitors and the conference programme at www.itthub.co.uk .
