Carrier is pleased to announce a free webinar focusing on innovative electric transport refrigeration technologies that advance a sustainable cold chain. The one-hour webinar will take place May 25, 2022 as part of Carrier’s Healthy, Safe, Sustainable and Intelligent Cold Chain Program, designed to help customers meet rapidly evolving supply chain demands and make their cold chains more effective in preserving and protecting the supply of food, medicine and vaccines worldwide. Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR) is the leading global provider of innovative healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold chain solutions.

Carrier offers a range of zero-emission* transport refrigeration solutions for trailer, truck and light commercial vehicle customers. The refrigeration segment continues to strengthen electric transport through strategic alliances to further innovate refrigerated fleets and address upcoming emissions regulations, which help meet Carrier’s ESG goal to reduce customers’ carbon footprint by one gigaton by 2030.

“Carrier is focused on decarbonization and investing in innovative solutions to create a more sustainable future through electric refrigerated transport,” said Tim White, President, Carrier Refrigeration. “We continue to move the cold chain forward by offering our customers the most sustainable solutions that support an intelligent, connected fleet that can reduce food waste, fuel costs and emissions.”

In 2021, Carrier introduced the all-electric, fully autonomous Vector eCool™ unit, now on the road in Europe, North America and in the Asia-Pacific region. Suitable for operation with the engineless versions of Carrier Transicold’s Vector HE 19 and Vector 1550 E, the Vector eCool combines the company’s E-Drive™ all-electric technology with a new cutting-edge energy recovery and storage system. This converts kinetic energy generated by the trailer into electricity, which is then stored in a battery pack to power the refrigeration unit. This loop creates a fully autonomous system that produces no direct carbon dioxide (CO2) or particulate emissions.

Carrier Transicold further accelerated its electrification capabilities through a strategic partnership with Portuguese technology company AddVolt. The partnership enables Carrier to broadly utilize the company’s engine-agnostic technology to develop innovative sustainable transport refrigeration solutions for customers in Europe.

Earlier this year, Carrier announced another strategic alliance with ConMet, a leading global manufacturer of wheel hubs, structural plastic, aluminum casting components and advanced transport technologies for the commercial vehicle industry. The alliance advances Carrier’s broader zero-emission transport refrigeration solutions, with the availability of electric options for trailer, truck and light commercial vehicle customers before the end of 2022, helping address upcoming emissions regulations.
