Pastorfrigor GB, the Essex based commercial refrigeration business, is reporting a rise in the sales of energy efficient multidecks ahead of the expected energy price hike announcement on 1 April 2022. The company is also pleased to announce the appointment of its new Commercial Manager, James Warburton.

Pastorfrigor GB sales of multidecks have increased by 40% year-on-year-on-year (YOYOY) and said it is largely due to the introduction of its energy label A Genova OV range of refrigeration. As the most efficient commercial integral glass door multideck display cabinet in the world, it continues to be the first and only for any UK refrigeration business.

Simon Robinson, Managing Director of Pastorfrigor GB Ltd, said: “We have received a high number of orders for our Genova OV Energy rated A integral multideck as retailers want equipment with the lowest energy consumption in preparation for the predicted energy price hikes in April 2022.

“We are seeing a huge number of retailers looking for a greener solution with natural refrigerants and easier maintenance. Our retrofit energy solutions also contributed to increased turnover with large retro fit programs fitting shelf edge technology and chiller doors in leading supermarkets.”

With demand in the grocery retail market for more energy efficient refrigeration growing, Pastorfrigor is expecting growth to continue during 2022.

“As we see the savvy retailers looking to meet the new energy standards quickly and focusing on keeping energy costs down and minimising waste, we expect demand for commercial refrigeration to rise. In addition the rapid growth of the retail sector represented by the rising number of supermarkets, convenience and forecourt stores is boosting the sales of commercial refrigeration equipment,” added Robinson.

To support the growth of the business, James Warburton joins Pastorfrigor GB as Commercial Manager. Warburton has over 20 years of experience in sales and project management within the commercial refrigeration industry and its supply chain. He worked with AB Group and Eight Installations since 2019 where he held the role of Head of Business Operations until he was promoted to Group Commercial Business Manager. Previously he was Key Account Manager with the Epta Group for seven years and Project Manager of Relays and Implementation at Tesco for four years.

“James brings a wealth of experience with him. He will focus on developing business with our existing customer base and actively targeting new revenue streams,” said Robinson.

Warburton added: “I am delighted to join Simon and the team at Pastorfrigor at a time when the business is experiencing exponential growth. They have worked hard at developing a refrigeration cabinet that exceeds current standards on sustainability and efficiency labelling. I am looking forward to supporting the growth of the business and expanding its reach into the supermarket, convenience, forecourt and speciality fine food sectors.”

Introduced to the market in 2020, Pastorfrigor’s plug-in Genova Overview range is a quick turnkey solution for supermarkets, convenience stores and food-to-go businesses that look to replace their refrigeration overnight.

The Genova Overview (OV) range provides a complete green integral solution for any business using refrigeration. Using the natural refrigerant R290, the innovative system allows significant reductions in consumption and noise, layout flexibility with the widest modularity, immediate installation, wide product range and tailor-made solutions.

Pastorfrigor GB specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of refrigeration, for all food outlets.
