At this year’s TCS&D Show leading refrigeration bodybuilder Paneltex will be displaying two vehicles from its exciting 2019 product portfolio, with the first vehicle taking centre stage on their stand within the main hall and a second vehicle being available to ‘ride and drive’ at the venue. Both vehicles continue the ‘electric’ theme displayed by Paneltex at the CV Show earlier this year.

On the main Paneltex stand within the exhibition, there will be a medium wheelbase, high roof, front wheel drive, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van with a Paneltex Somers conversion featuring a fold back freezer side door and moulded rear chiller doors. It will also have a fixed internal bulkhead, with frozen in the front compartment and chilled in the rear. The Sprinter will be featuring an electric GAH refrigeration unit and will also have one of the Somers direct air covers fitted over the condenser, which improves airflow into the heat exchanger, increasing the efficiency of the fridge both when moving and standing still.

Available for demonstration within the ‘ride and drive’ area at the show, there will be a 7.5 tonne Paneltex electric vehicle based on the Isuzu N75 rigid chassis. This vehicle has a Paneltex refrigerated body with a GAH SR351E electric refrigeration system that is powered by the traction batteries. This vehicle also features triple rear doors with a nearside access door as well.

The Paneltex 7.5t electric vehicle boasts an impressive payload benefit of more than 200 kg over the equivalent traditional diesel engine trucks and with an 80-kWh battery pack, the vehicle has the potential journey distance of 80 miles when fully loaded. The vehicle also features fully electric cab heaters.

Announcing details of their TCSD exhibits, Paneltex managing director Chris Berridge said, “The two Paneltex vehicles at the show are part of a full range of refrigerated vehicles available from Paneltex and as a company we are at the forefront of the emerging electric technology. Customers will be able to see it first-hand the technical expertise behind our vehicles, as well as being able to drive one of them.”
